Could be that Warner was using the service as both a test bed for the tech/infrastructure for HBOmax, and as market testing for how strong the DC brand/various subbrands are.

WarnerMedia is already cannibalizing the service with shows like Doom Patrol s2 airing on HBO Max and Stargirl airing on the CW the day after it shows up the streaming service.
