I've made a huge mistake.
I needed to do my weekly shop so I braved Sainsbury's. The toilet paper aisle was still stripped bare, and in the rush to restock various lines had been put in different places, but other than that it had largely returned to normal.

That was also the fastest epidemic. With suppression like everyone is practicing now there will be on/off lockdowns until there is a vaccine or everyone has basically had it. 12-18 months probably.

Run through normal streets, not along the canal. Every park and popular walking route in London is absolutely heaving, like 3-4x as busy as a normal weekend.

The labour party is full of centrist weasels so if the general public embraces the idea of socialism it probably would see itself destroyed one way or the other.

Some of these young footballers are retweeting Piers Morgan one minute when he says complacency is the biggest danger right now, and then trying to get a five a side game going the next because they're bored (and out of contract in June).

This is at an academy with an ongoing mumps outbreak and one lad missed all of last season with stomach cancer.

I wonder if this will remain relatively concentrated in London and the South East, or if we'll see similar numbers throughout the country in a couple weeks. Just as a quick update and to spread awareness, I think I had the Roni after all since me and my partner both have totally lost all sense of smell or taste (barring sweet, sour, etc). Apparently this might be a COVID19 symptom and certainly fits with everything else we had.

Publicising this just because they think that there might be cases where the anosmia is the only symptom. So if you suddenly find your sinuses have sealed up and you can't smell anything you should probably self isolate. link here

What's Jones been up to? He's never really had to face something that couldn't be cured with the brain force. I know David Icke thinks that it's being used to push the global authority totalitarian cult, but he thinks that about the speaking clock.

You mean apart from:

"The limit is .08 and I blew .079 an hour after so obviously THE GLOBALISTS are trying to silence me!"

He's been all over the place on this one, TBH. One day he's claiming it's a race-specific bioweapon released by Trump (and that's a good thing), the next that it's the globalists trying to depopulate the earth, then it's all a hoax to bring in the NWO. The opinion seems to change depending on what he has in stock - the more shelf-stable food and silver toothpaste ("I never said it cured the coronavirus, only that the US military said one of the ingredients definitely killed the coronavirus!") he has in stock the more apocalyptic his predictions are.

It reflects the fact that he was very briefly in the Trump orbit via people like Roger Stone and so was a full-on Trump cultist for a while, but then he realised that even that wasn't going to get him his Facebook account back and was losing him his old core FEMA-camp listeners - the ones still tuning in on SW radios - he's been going back and forth between conventional MAGA-ism and his old, nineties black helicopter roots.

He also missed the QAnon boat and so between that and Stone being in prison he's lost a lot of influence in the :tinfoil: brigade, so is flirting more and more with the meme-warrior white-supremacist crowd to replace the boomers lost to Q, Fox News, and entropy.

If you're self-isolating (or just bored), the Knowledge Fight podcast do an absolutely staggering amount of work following the ins and outs of the Infowars crowd and their assorted hangers-on, and somehow manage to make it funny too despite punting out upwards of five hours of it a week. As they occasionally point out, Dan *definitely* puts more effort into his show than Jones himself - who often turns up late, disappears to take phone calls, and eats while callers are talking - ever does.

A handy hint - the arm length of a person of average height plus the length of a regulation cricket bat is just below the 2 metre advised degree of separation. So just run along wildly swinging a cricket bat and you know you'll be safe.

Classic London-centric view ;)

Manchester and Birmingham are quite densely populated, and with the economy so tilted towards working in cities it will have already spread all over. This weekend with everyone going to B&Q or queuing up on nature trails will make sure everyone has the chance to eat a gobful of coughs.

I think there's a wee delay in confirmed cases/deaths as these would be from a week or so ago from first infection - so this time next week I bet we'll see a big swell with everyone having a last drink at a pub or what have you. Feel bad for all the career drinkers who wait outside Spoons in a morning, now drinking warm cans of special brew and watching daytime tv.

Yes this is kind of what I assumed.

I was asking as I saw a map of Italy, and while they do have cases everywhere it absolutely seems that the northern areas around Lombardy and Veneto remain by far the worst affected.

Last I heard Alex Jones was fighting several defamation lawsuits.

The big one is over the parents of the kids killed at Sandy Hook. The depositions from that (covered by Knowledge Fight, of course) are spectacularly entertaining as long as you can compartmentalise what the case itself is about.

He's also still going through a custody battle over his kids after his spectacular divorce, and the DUI came after a fight with his new wife bad enough that she called the cops. Also his new wife is also facing a DUI charge after the private detective that he had following her was forced to call the cops after seeing her almost unable to stand getting behind the wheel.

PJW is trying to untangle himself from the rigging of Infowars as it slips beneath the waves, but his choices of lifeboat (Dankula/UKIP etc) have not been the best.
