QuoProQuid posted:Are the G.I. Joe movies any good? I avoided them when they first came out and I know nothing about the franchise. No. They're bad in pretty much every aspect you can imagine. That said, they're also not dull which makes them kind of amusing to laugh at if you're into that kind of thing. Basically, don't pay for them and don't watch them if you want even a tiny amount of competence in your action films. The second one is much more stupid than the first so that's the one to watch if you're going to pick between the two.

They're stupid fun and are on Netflix, I think. You can do worse with your time. The first one has some incredible scenery chewing from JGL and it has a sweet ending. The second one has Dwayne Johnson being cool and Bruce Willis sleeping his way through a paycheck. (I liked both of them).

The funny thing about the GI Joe movies is that the first one did well at the box office but reviewed bad, so for the sequel they decided to kill off everyone but Snake Eyes and start over. Except after the sequel was done filming Channing Tatum became a mega star. They couldn't completely retool the movie because that would have required refilming everything so instead they delayed it and filmed a filler scene of Channing and the Rock hanging out and playing videogames. Also since then Channing Tatum has stated he thinks the movies are garbage and only did them because the studio had him under contract.
