We're mocking flat Earthers, although if they have an honest to God alien telling them it's flat then I don't think I could blame them tbh

Guys they're people at a trans meetup and that Flat Earth page is a troll page that posted it for mockery purposes. How is this not obvious to you?

A local kava chain who apparently have a reputation of being dicks on social media host a ladies night that only caters to “genetic females” and allegedly asks patrons to flash their tits to prove it. Charming. Their Facebook page currently has a 1.4 star rating and anyone defending them is getting decimated. They also take crypto, so that’s another red flag. E: original post that has more screenshots of them being gross. https://www.facebook.com/100000552781118/posts/2137022232992849/ EL BROMANCE has a new favorite as of 20:49 on Jul 10, 2018 |

I recognize that purple haired girl from a Games Done Quick livestream so i'm guessing this is a photo taken after the event and all those people are speed runners of some kind. Also for some odd reason there is a high amount of people involved in the Games Done Quick community who are trans so i'm doubling down on my guess that this is from that.

Yeah, it seems like a meetup after AGDQ in January, and Reddit had a problem with it because it had trans women who looked happy in it.

I think he probably would be, it became more common among protestants in America in the 19th century, so well before Steve Rogers was born.

Misremembering when circumcision became prevalent in the US. It was nearly universal by the turn of the century, about 25 years before Cap was born. (I don't really follow comics anymore; does anyone talk about how Cap lived through the Great Depression?)

The one human player ended up getting nuked within I want to say 20 minutes, it was pretty amazing to watch.

Turtlicious posted:When playing board games, it's assumed you're trying your hardest to win as quickly as possible, if you don't play that way the game breaks down and effects enjoyment of the games. Some games are irredeemable and it's actually impossible to enjoy playing them. Catan is one of those games. OK, the only part of it that I like it building roads and trading stuff and I should probably just stick to playing Civilization, but I would appreciate an answer.

trickybiscuits posted:WHY IS IT BAD Here's how 90% of my Catan games have gone: Everyone places their staring cities with one player ending up having good access to everything, two other players having okay access to a couple things, and one guy getting sheep. Player 1 proceeds to do really good while two and three stand a fighting chance and player 4 has all of the sheep. Player 4 might try and build his way to a dock so he can get better trades for his sheep but he's more likely to get blocked in unable to do anything but get more sheep. Eventually sheepman gets frustrated and begins trading his sheep to whoever is closest to winning so "the loving game can end and we can play something fun"

trickybiscuits posted:WHY IS IT BAD If the dice arent going your way you sit there, getting nothing, doing nothing. Roll, pass. There are occasions where a players only meaningful choice for the whole game is where to place their starting villages. There isnt always a lot of player interaction (if I remember correctly you can only trade on your own turn even), it has a real "rich get richer" feel which means its often obvious very early who is going to win and who is going to be last and theres not much chance of that changing, its heavily dice dependent, and frankly its too long for the amount of game there. I mean, there are worse games (Monopoly and Munchkin immediately spring to mind) and I did have some fun with Catan back in the day. After a few games those issues started to grate and the game started to feel very samey. I'd say Catan falls into a group of games that give an okay, fairly straightforward introduction to various board game concepts but a lot of people* want to move on from after a while. Whatever aspect of Catan that appeals to a person, there is probably a better game that hits those same points but does more with them. So if you like the trading aspect there are better trading games, if you like the building and upgrading there are games that do that better, if you like the hidden cards and using a well timed monopoly to ruin everyone elses day then there are games that make that a bigger feature and so on and so forth. If you like joining up stuff with roads maybe try Ticket To Ride. *In all fairness I have known people who literally NEVER got bored of Catan. Like, would play multiple nights a week every week for years. So, horses for courses I guess.
