The Super Bowl was clearly the game of his life. I don't blame the front office for thinking he had finally turned the corner after that performance, but at this juncture, it appears that was a bad bet.

That loving Derek Anderson end zone INT, oh my god. You don't need a top 10 QB to make all the throws; any rear end in a top hat can do that. You need a top 10 QB to not make certain throws. (Please imagine this scorching hot and zen take with possibly racist Asian music in the background tia)

Its actually more like you're four students where the Valedictorian always cheated on his tests and acted outraged when caught and suspended 4 games because his whole family is obnoxious and one of them was a legitimate serial killer That might have been difficult to read between the lines

Hey John, your best receiver was wide open for an easy touchdown and Hoyer didn't even look his way "Go eat a hot dog"

Brockenstein posted:Hey John, your best receiver was wide open for an easy touchdown and Hoyer didn't even look his way I think he only looked to the guy Davis was covering a few times all game, which worked out for him for most plays. So I can see why he didn't look that way, because he saw Davis there pre snap and decided to go to somewhere else.

I get John Fox's point though. We don't know what the play was and what progression Hoyer was suppose to go through. It's kinda simplistic to throw bones at someone and just say "duuur throw it to the open guy" when there are so many variables in each play.

I could imagine that to be the case except for the fact that you have a top 10 WR in the league in single coverage and don't spare him a glance

Brockenstein posted:I could imagine that to be the case except for the fact that you have a top 10 WR in the league in single coverage and don't spare him a glance I mean he is a backup QB...it's not like Cutler was impressive in any way in the games he played this year. Hoyer probably hosed up but Fox doesn't have to admit that to the media.

Nah Osweiler's been money on deep balls, he just sucks at intermediate stuff which is why teams have been free to keep their safeties deep without worrying too much Alternately, he would have underthrown Alshon badly enough that Davis would have picked it off

The other thing with Osweiler is the Texans line has been pretty bad to start the year since Duane Brown was out, Jeff Allen stinks, Newton's been playing hurt, Mancz is god awful... You can see Os becoming increasingly shook by it even when he's not actually under pressure, and it's not something that happens just through the course of the game either. Week to week he starts each game increasingly jumpy in the pocket It's been like watching David Carr's career on fast forward
