Question for anyone who may know:

How much would I be looking to spend to go to ESA (minus travel obviously because that’s different for everyone)? I mean, is there much of a fee for watching the event and how much would staying for the duration in the hotel cost me? Cost in GBP or Euro would be best.

I’m considering I might go to ESA next summer, it’d be cheaper than trying to get to GDQ because I’m in the U.K. and still has great speedruns. Plus maybe I’ll end up being awesome at speed running Dragons Dogma and apply to perform it :v:

Maybe I should PM Kenny or Punchy to ask them directly too as I know they attended but I’m not sure if anyone else did.

Usually with stuff like that it's to separate from gambling laws. I don't know what sweden's laws are but that's why you often see "no purchase necessary" on contests in the US.

it's probably because of gambling laws, yeah

the reason they ask you to send a postcard is that entering these draws without actually giving to charity is kind of an rear end in a top hat thing to do, so they've got no reason to make it easy to do that.

Flight from London cost me about £250
Share of three man hotel stay cost me about £260

Money for food and dumb poo poo is like another £200 depending on how frugal you want to be about it. Sweden is a very card based economy though so you might not need that much actual cash on you.

oh yeah I forgot ticket is like, I forget. Fourty quid or something?

One of the classic early NES puzzle games, if you're into puzzle type stuff definitely check it out.

Really? It's like one of the most ripped off games ever. Make boxes, climb on boxes, get key in room, go to door with a character with some really limited platforming abilities. It plays more like a puzzle game than anything else.

Oh awesome, thanks Punchy! That gives me a good idea of what I might need to spend, I’ll have to see what my situation is like nearer the summer next year but I think I’d like to go if I could.
