I learned of these guys while playing Star Wars: Fallen Order. In two parts of the game, you hear this song with heavy beats and growly, alien-sounding vocals, and I found myself really grooving to it. I did some googling, and it turned out to be The HU. Who knew that Mongolian throat-singing metal would be one of my jams? (And yes, they have a song about Genghis Khan)

One good thing that's been done with the new direction of Star Wars has been expanding the music beyond the original style. Oga's Cantina at Disney has a playlist of like 18 songs done by different artists, including a Gungan drinking song that sounds very much like a HU song. I don't think it's been publicly revealed who made it out-of-universe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_5I39eMqUY

The original version of Wolf Totem is just fine the way it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jM8dCGIm6yc ... Well, except for the hot water they got in for including some (read: one) hidden nazi iconography. Turns out if you call up a bunch of biker gangs to be in a music video, that becomes a distinct possibility.

On a long-enough timeline, all Asian bands have a song about Genghis, and 5% of them directly about.

Iirc on a ring on one of the bikers which they later cut out of the video. It was a proper nazi germany swastika not a Mongol one. Nazi symbology is kind of weird in Mongolia, those biker groups are nationalists who see Hitler a lot like genghis khan. Gotta kill a lot of people to make your country great. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsagaan_Khas?wprov=sfla1 AlexanderCA has a new favorite as of 01:13 on Feb 5, 2020 |

I'm looking for a video I saw, I'm pretty sure it was earlier in the thread, of a guy playing a VR game. He was on a platform about 3 floors above another guy, and he was holding an upside down garbage can. He jumped off the edge and slammed the garbage can over the other guy's head, and then started leaning down and shooting up under the edge of the can at the now-blinded guy. Does anyone have that, or know what I'm talking about? YouTube searches are going nowhere.
