Does anyone actually run Mentor roulette? I never have. I did run it once by complete accident when I assumed that Frontlines roulette was at the bottom of the DR list. Boy was that a surprise! Luckily the sprouts were very grateful and were pretty chill overall.

Mentor roulette is ok for getting WT newbie points but not much else. Anybody with the giant pegasus is a crazy person. As for what to provide as a mentor, don't sweat it too much. Offer advice if somebody is clearly struggling, but if they want in depth information that you don't know then it's ok to say you don't know (but maybe this website can answer your question). It's ok, I'm not anywhere near mentor status anyways. I'll help out on fight explanations just so we don't wipe. It generally doesn't matter in any instances up to AV as long as the Healer and Tank knows what's up, but eventually there are DPS check mechanics (Sunken Temple (HARD)) that need explanations or you'll never beat it.

I feel that if you don't have some experience with every class and most all game content, you shouldn't be a mentor. And if you're running something you're new to maybe at least just remove that silly crown icon so you're looking a little less like an rear end. More often then not, the mentor's encountered is in dire need of mentoring themselves by being real bad at their current class and the game in general. I'ts almost like the whole thing is a poorly implemented system.

I try to be a bastion of good sense in our Novice Network, which is generally made up of bad opinions about class balance and anime porn chat. The most common sprout question is generally "how do I leave Novice Network." It's a losing battle but there have been a few people happy for the help. The whole system's pretty poo poo tbh.
