Lil boat going down with the ship. That said, I doubt he'll be the last to try to jump on the wrong side of the situation sincerely, for the attention, and/or for the opportunity to get into Drake's circle.

Wayne's first studio albums during the time of his Hot Boys stint shouldn't be discounted. His sophomore album Lights Out is a personal classic. Mannie was also in his prime and popping off much more back then moreso than he was in the later years.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MX1GYAiY4yQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4THcqUZBtI

His SQ (squad) tapes are also extremely good and marked the pivotal time when Wayne started to hone his flow and style that eventually broke through into the mainstream success that Carter 1 saw. A lot of the SQ group members efforts weigh some of the songs down, but Wayne's features were all solid and him jacking other rappers beats and making GBS threads all over them was always the real highlight.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lt-X_GR2Sao

Honestly if you like anything Wayne has done you should start from the very beginning and spin his whole discography, affiliated projects and mixtapes included. None are bad, and the Hot Boys era cemented both the group members and Cash Money the label as southern legends.

I think Wayne peaked with his track Mona Lisa with Kendrick. It’s an incredibly well done song and it astounds me that so late into Wayne’s career he made such a good song.

thathonkey
Jul 17, 2012
that song is really good but wayne peaked well before C5. the album on the whole is straight rear end. regardless hes firmly in my top 3 and he can still bring it whenever hes motivated. collegrove 2 from last year has some classic weezy verses on the front half

Speaking of late career excellence, this isn’t super new but Slick Rick is so good on this Muggs track

https://youtu.be/8I_13IYtSQs?si=TBzJbNkTn4qRdNEa

I saw an interview with Muggs where he said it took Rick a long time to complete his part but it was because he never really used slow beats like that. He kept scrapping his lyrics until he did it double time like that, and it sounds great. Now I wish Rakim could find a good producer to help him come out with something cool, I feel like that’s what he needs.

I wouldn't trust he's actually betting his own money with Stake anyways as he partnered with the company: https://stake.com/drake

He's just like all of the streamers that moved to alternative streaming platforms to get giant gambling sponsorship bags. Like them, he probably is basically playing with the house's money such that then he can post Instagram stories like that which are basically ads but not ads.

Toxic Mental
Jun 1, 2019

Yeah 0% chance he actually put that money down. For famous streamers and personalities that are sponsored by the site, Stake just takes whatever they lose and puts it back in their accounts, so it's all just play money. That's why some streamers have been gambling $1000 a second for 20 hours a day for years and years and would have lost hundreds of millions of dollars at this point but never seem to run out of money.

Every comment was how that was the behavior of someone with a gambling problem. This was before the beef popped off.
