Haven't read this thread before but I spent a big chunk of last week reading every page of this from the day before Euphoria dropped to today and I had a great time reliving all the excitement all over again and laughing my rear end off from everybody flipping out those first couple days. This all really felt like one of those key historical moments in culture I got to watch unravel in real time that will be talked about for years and years. I feel like I'll instantly recall exactly where I was in my life the first time I heard Euphoria, Meet the Grahams, Not Like Us, years from now. I can see myself revisiting those posts again sometime from now too. (Also I work in IT in Philadelphia for a company whose employees are like 75% black women and lmao the many hushed conversations that took place in my office just from people walking by & hearing me playing Not Like Us on repeat that first week might be some of my favorite memories of my entire career lol)

Its foolish to disregard this track just because its a bit more thoughtful and down tempo than a regular summer banger. I think he's got a lot to say and this is a great way for him to get that out. I know this is awful but I do wonder sometimes if the whole “short album with zero possibility of hits” thing h that he’s been up to over his last three albums is that he is just trying to finish his def jam deal as fast as he can while also maintaining artistic credibility. It doesn’t bode well to me that half of his album announcement post is about how he’s been on DJ all this time and is now finally done lol

The critical reception for Ramona Park was that it was in a similar vein to the s/T one and I didn’t feel the need to bother with it at that point. I love summertime 06 and big fish, I think I have made plenty of embarrassing drunk posts about how great 745 is lol. I don’t dislike Vince or his music but what he is doing musically now does nothing for me. Which is fine
