do they design these things with the intent of them being impossible & then get mad when somebody beats them
theyre designed to be as hard as possible without pulling any punches, and you wouldnt normally encounter them on a standard playthrough. theyre just hidden bosses for Ultra-Hardcore shmup fans. The one in dodonpachi daioujou death label took 7 years from release to clear hahaha

shmups are mostly played for score anyways so technically you can do really well without ever 'beating' the game. Lots of games have some high scores that end on like, the 5th level of the 2nd loop

Touhou is the exception to that because it has god awful scoring systems so you just play it to look at beautiful bullet patterns

its like pokemon, but instead of having animal pit fights, you make friends with ghosts and then you go around possessing people to improve their lives like some kind of 8 year old paranormal psychologist

the actual game is just as tedious and easy as the demo, but i think its fun because of how much there is to explore and how weird the quests get. also the demo completely removed the menu for some reason, so you dont get to see where you can do more strategic stuff like swap around where the yokai are, equip them with items, and change their personality which affects what they do in fights. not that any of that matters, because this game is made for children and it is incredibly easy
