Chapter Approved is taking my current batch of Chaos Space Marines and dropping them from ~1642 to under 1500 (exactly 1472, if my math isn't off). Dammit 2k points, I'll catch you eventually. That said, I recently noticed that I may be able to hammer what I do have into a Brigade, if I build intelligently to that mark. I need to get ten more CSM, and then fill up three Fast Attack slots. With Warp Talons down to 95 for a min size squad, how good of an idea are they to take for that?

When I finally decide it’s time for my second army, if I go for humans Ad Mech is definitely in my top 3 options, the others being Sisters or maybe Iron Hands (I’m disabled so an army of dudes with prosthetic arms appeals to me), but that is waaaaaaay off.

Correction to my earlier post: Warbikers did not get a point reduction, Nobs on Warbikes did. Also, Warboss on Warbike is in Forge World. Looks like he's gone up by about nine points, but at least he's not in Legends, it doesn't look like. Anime_Otaku posted:Can anyone tell me what my list will cost post CA? I plugged the point changes into some calculators and there aren't really that many decisions that change. Smasha guns are still the best. Burnas got better but are still worse than boyz in both PPW efficiency and resilience. Nob Bikerz maybe get run as MSU with all special Nob weapons but still probably not. Flash Gitz got way better PPW, but they are Heavy 3 with 24" range so orks are likely to still use lootas or Mek Guns. Biggest winners are probably the DeffDreads with 2x claw and 2x saw. E for clarity: Most relevant change is that the regular mek with KFF is 22 points cheaper than the mega armor version and appears to be an official entry now. Why nerf thousand sons DPs? Currently the only real use thousand sons have in competitive is 2 dps and Ahriman in an Supreme command detachment but that's less viable now. I'm a bit salty my favourite bs 750 pt build, 3 DPs and 30 tzaangors, won't work in 2020. What would a decent Pure 1000pt 1K sons list look like now? 2dps, Ahriman, a pair of rifle dreads and as many cultists as you can fit into the remainder? Tzaangors taking a punch in the gut isn't great either. Not sure how cheaper rubrics will fare in the meta.

There are structural issues that impose limitations on how much point adjustments can affect balance. Thunder-hammer are more effective of Smashcaptains, but cost the same as for other models, etc. What's harder to understand is the models that GW has just declined to address. The Space Marine Vindicator is probably the most straightforward example. It's been terrible since 8th launched. The Stompa just got a price cut, but it still seems to be a long way from where it should be.

So, some thoughts on the Ork Warboss on Warbike. It's being listed in the Forge World section of Chapter Approved. This makes a certain amount of sense, given that the Zhadsnark model has been sold as a generic "Warboss on Warbike" for a while. Interestingly, Zhad is still listed as another option. It would be nice to think that they plan to make a new model for one of them, but I think they didn't want to get rid of a character who technically has a model available, even if that model is being shared with another datasheet. The new price is 95 points. This is nine points higher than their Index price. On the other hand, a lot of wargear saw price drops from the Index into the Codex. The Big Choppa that he has by default is down to five points instead of nine. This puts Zhad at only five points more expensive with his default gear. If you look at the power klaw, on the other hand, it went from 25 to 13. This makes a Bikeboss with a PK three points cheaper than it would have been in the Index. Given this, I think it's most likely to be the same statline, though we won't know until they clarify somewhere or issue an update to Imperial Armor: Xenos.

Yes Ruststalkers went down, but so did Infiltrators and Fulgurites, which are their main competitors for the slot. Fisty Kastelans went down, but not by enough to make them worth taking, but Neutron and Icarus Dunecrawlers also went down, and people were already bringing those. Maybe you'll see more Dunecrawlers than Disintegrators but I don't think the changes do much to change AdMech's options of play, they're just a straight buff that lets you take more stuff. I don't think our lists will change, except by being a bit happier to bring a squad of Infiltrators or something, we'll just be able to field more units of what is already good.
