I did think it was odd that he'd managed to get back to the group seemingly fairly easily when it took Kennaugh and Mathews like 15km and they were both utterly hosed by doing it.

Strava file shows him pedaling all the way up Cipressa so I doubt he went full Nibali mode. Probably just took a well timed bottle throw.

Its amusing in retrospect that the commentary(at least what I was watching) didn't bat an eye at this. He crashed at a pretty frantic time near the end of the race, its not like they were riding piano. And he just happens to catch back on and power through to the sprint. hmmmm
