There was an article in Forbes a while back talking about how he'd be the first Jewish president and how rich people need to be prepared for him to take all your money like Jews are wont to do

I don't think it's becuase he's a Jew and neither does Forbes. It's because he's a quasi-socialist retard who suggested spending $18 trillion more in 10 years.

My recollection is that he wasn't trying to be anti semitic, he just included "and he'd be the first Jewish president and he'd be sworn in by a Catholic" as kind of a neat fact, but because of where it was in the article it came across as super racist.

I think an NPR host casually asking Bernie about his dual citizenship is a bit of a better example. I've also heard pro-Iran deal people suggest that Chuck Schumer had dual citizenship.

Pillbug

Just fyi that's not an actual scalia quote - as a layperson doing some digging, the sentiment appears to be "look if we took appeals just because a dude is innocent that'd be heaps of work and whatchagonna do, y'know?"
Which is kind of arguably worse.

Pro: Oklahoma recently approved measures to add a nitrogen asphyxiation gas chamber as a method of state execution, so at least the executions will be pain free regardless of whether or not they're justifiable.

Con: Glossip doesn't get this option and will instead be injected with the usual torture juice.

I think the actual con is that Oklahoma is going to execute someone who's probably innocent, and there are no pros.

Pro? Oklahoma has a new policy of turning off the execution chamber mic so witnesses can't hear the subject suffering as they die, ala Clayton Lockett.

How the hell did a jury agree to the death penalty in a case where the evidence against a person was the word of the actually murderer?

It's because a lot of people lust for the murder of "criminals", doesn't matter if they are innocent or guilty, it makes them feel better about themselves.

Because the sentiment "He wouldn't have been arrested if he didn't do it. :colbert: " still has a lot of traction with the people who end up serving on juries.
