This seems...okay. The hacky-slashes are appropriately hacky-slashy, and I can see some potentially interesting things you could do with the Servans and their abilities - although these early battles definitely haven't required any particular ingenuity. I hope Lilysse gets some characterization and that she isn't just there for you to chase for the whole game. Also played an hour or so of Nioh tonight, and that game feels real good. It's not as lavishly animated or meticulously produced as a Dark Souls, but it's faster and flows really well and you can use a Kusarigama, and you sure can't do that in dark souls. The stance switching stuff is really cool, too.

The fighting never really takes much more than not standing next to bombs or in aoes, to be honest. Arnice herself really isn't all that damaging so you're pretty reliant on servans for their damage and using their abilities basically like normal spells, though once you get another weapon you can swap between them to reset your swing counter.
