Just noting that I got the last turn of last round wrong. It's not rock v rock, it's rock v paper, giving PM one more point

hooray

and then sometimes I'd change the default, I think I changed a conditional once, and some of the times I didn't change anything.

I'll play you if JJ wants to run it, just let me alter my code into something that might get crushed a little less.

I have spent every waking moment preparing for Battleships since that fateful day when Magres foolishly gave away your intentions.

No reason I can't run a game between you two as a sort of side match. Winner gets the right to challenge PM! Send me your stuffs.

Well I have a couple things drawn up but there's an important question I asked first, how is yours coming along mills?

There's no point in going overboard with the planning. I gave it about 5 minutes thought and submitted something!

well then

You probably just want to build something 'random' like Juanito or you want to build something to counter my program (assuming my program isn't 'random'). If you want to do the former, it's simple and we'll be 50/50 for a winner and good luck to us. If you want to do something like the latter, think about what strategy I might have taken and think about how you can beat it.
|
# ? Oct 21, 2014 06:20 |
|
The first round in particular is a 'crap shoot' as far as strategy is concerned, unless you think you can get inside my head and work out what I would have programmed. Later rounds are different (assuming I don't modify the program) since you then have an ability to predict what I might have submitted (and may or may not have changed).

I'm actually quite proud of mine. I'LL TAKE YOU BOTH ON.

At the end of the day, if you are halfway competent with logic statements and halfway competent with getting inside my head, then I believe this will involve a fair bit of luck.

I found I did better when I changed the angle I was looking at the monitor and the distance I viewed from; I'm not sure how much of that was monitor quality. Did you do that at all?

Yeah I leaned back and moved my head around. I was surprised I got perfect since staring at the screen was hurting my eyes so I was trying to finish quickly. I also sorted it by the size of the dark patch I saw in each colour but I'm not sure if that was a real thing or my imagination.
