my companies referral proecess is hosed up. we'll pay recruiters 25 - 40k per hire, but employees get compensated 1k. way to incentivize the people who might actually care about the quality of candidates, noobs

LinkedIn is also good for following what happened to the retards you once worked with. like, I'm moving along in my career while this idiot is still doing the same thing we did when we were just out of college.

I work in a small industry so it's p. hilarious to see a string of recruiters all advertising the same position in succession because surprise surprise it pays 20% under market, especially hilarious when they cold call you and are being all coy about this great opportunity and you go "is this the ABC job at XYZ? yeah I'm not legally qualified to do that, like literally the first line of my profile should have clued you in, also they can't fill the position because they're severely low balling everyone, good luck." the one specialized recruiter I approached took two months to set me up for a waste of time of an informational interview where the interviewer went "uh you're not qualified to do XYZ would you be interested in an internship?" (I started as a lead XYZ at their competitor the week after, gently caress recruiters)

I heard that if you respond to unsolicited messages it costs the person who sent it money so I usually do a "no, thanks" and hope it cost them because I'm not interested in moving to irvine for a $30/hour contract gig

while true, they can get a refund on the "no thank you" message by just forwarding it to their account manager who then credits them an additional 500 inmails for the trouble
