I got my hands on two lightly tuned b230fk Volvo engines with transmissions. Now I only need a 850 estate to put them in. Anyone have tips on how to do the fly by wire stuff I will need?

The car threw a engine light + shaking motor 1km from home. on the freeway. in the middle of morning traffic. It was my first ride from a tow truck so some sort of virginity was lost today. Christmas miracle!

Anyone have tips on how to do the fly by wire stuff I will need? The B230F engine won't work in an 850, at least, not without some serious fabrication anyway. The 850 is FWD and uses the B5234 engine series. The B230 will work great in any 240, 740, or 940 though! Unless the entire point of this is to make some ridiculous twin engine, twin transmission, twin driveshaft insanity wagon, in which case go right ahead.

Yeah I bike. My team does two winter rides in the shop a week and have extra trainers so I haven't bought one yet. Need to get one this winter so I'm not as out of shape when march rolls around.

Sorry to hear about your poo poo, Rhyno. PM me if you'd like to talk and all that. In dead Uncle news, the hearing and judgement for the executor of the house and all my grandma's poo poo is on Wednesday. We're hoping that the judge allows my lovely sociopathic aunt to have executor-ship with the stipulation that it has to be bonded. That way we don't have to deal with it, and she has to answer to the bond-holders for every decision and can't run the estate into the ground like she has her own finances. If not, we'll dump money everywhere until the stupid oval office dies and then give it to her son. SLED is still investigating the wrongful death of my Uncle last I heard, and his son has a great firm behind him doing everything for contingency on the wrongful death suit. I don't think my aunt even knows how he died, nor does she care I'd imagine. If she did know, we figure she would've filed a wrongful death suit herself, though it'd be difficult to win considering she's the one that put him in jail.

My wife's Fiesta is down to 25psi in all four tires. I really need to fill those up. On that note, does anybody know of a good cheap 110V air compressor for filling tires? I don't want an actual shop compressor (well I do, but I'm going to get a good one when the time comes) and all the electric ones I find seem to be 12V. My experience with those is that they're slow as hell. I just want something I can plug into the wall and top my tires off so I don't have to go to a gas station and pay $1.00 in quarters every time.

I've got a cheapo pancake compressor that works great for that kind of stuff. It's slow to build pressure and doesn't hold a lot of air, but great for tire filling when I don't want to unwind a lot of hose, or help with neighbor's tires, or some small air tool use in the house (really handy with a brad nailer). If you watch, they show up for under $50, I think I got mine at Home Depot for something around that.

Harbor freight has a big 12v one that works surprisingly well. Mine lasted about 2 years before it blew a gasket. Got it on sale for around $20 I think. Isn't it great to wake up to a wall of text from your fiancé saying how she decided to serve to miss a coyote, clipped a bush that took out the side mirror and now the passenger door doesn't latch? December is off to a great start.

They have a now-discontinued battery pack/light/compressor that was the same story. I had one of their super-duper special coupons once, and picked up the small 12v compressor for a whole $6. I had a couple low 15" tires- and decided to use it rather than drive to the gas station and piss away $1. It took about 10 minutes to add 1 pound, and then had to be turned off so it didn't get too hot and

I've used a fairly basic cigarette-lighter powered tyre inflator a lot of the time, and never had much of an issue with them doing the job. The really lovely ones you get for a fiver do burn out, but found that spend more like £20+, and they work just fine. The digital ones you can programme to stop at a given pressure are great, just leave them to get on with it.

He's been itching to drive it so he and his girl took me and the fiance to Gameworks in Phoenix. The trip was fun and we enjoyed ourselves, but man, Gameworks is such a rip off. Food sucked, games were meh, and half were broken. Oh well, not too terrible of an end for the long weekend. Sucks though, gotta do the grocery shopping before work tomorrow. Really not looking forward to this week. I know he was itching to buy a Fiesta, but that was literally a $170 repair that would take the better part of a Saturday morning, including junkyarding the new axle. Hope he sold the thing instead of scrapping it so it can become someone else's wallet hemorrhaging problem...
