Cavauro posted:supposedly staley didn't allow easton stick to hold a football for the 2021 or 2022 seasons or training camp, and the past couple weeks has been his first time using one in a long time. he's been forced to simulate taking snaps, throwing, etc. by going through the motions. staley's mantra on it was you have to earn the right to the football so some backups and most third stringers haven't touched one since he became head coach. stick has been practicing with a football for weeks so i'm not blaming staley for the fumbling but his weird mind games must have had some effect “Gruden once asked Tom Moore why Peyton's backups didn't get more reps: 'Fellas, if 18 goes down we're hosed, and we don't practice hosed.'”

2023 is the year teams realize they should start practicing hosed

Practicing hosed means doing things like getting reps in with lifting the baby you haven't seen and your split time from front door to the recliner cause your rear end is going home for christmas.

I missed the game and just watched the highlights which is not the best way to gauge things but holy poo poo it's like the Chargers were doing a checklist of losing in the most humiliating way possible: bad tackling, multiple fumbles lost, a muffed punt, a fat man TD, a trick play TD, a wildcat TD, an one-handed pick six on a screen pass so bad the DB almost went past the ball... truly amazing effort

at least it will shut up the dumbasses out there saying Herbert isn't clutch or something. It's the coach. He lost the locker room and nobody believes in what they are doing. The players clearly don't trust the coaches, the medical staff or the owner. Dean Spanos does not care about winning it is extremely obvious. Which is GREAT for other AFCW fans because the amount of talent running through there is frightening. Even guys like third round pick Josh Palmer look great if they had any kind of leadership that has the players buying in.

People have been putting in some work trying to rehab Vance Joseph's image this year, and that Dolphins loss was worse somehow than last night. I wouldn't be shocked if this game didn't really have any impact on Staley's tenure.

I wouldn't be shocked if this game didn't really have any impact on Staley's tenure. That was early in the season and early in Payton/joseph’s tenures—that could have been a fluke, give them some time, etc. This was confirmation of what this season has been and what staley has been this year, and his whole tenure really e: to Staley’s credit, I don’t think he had really lost the locker room before last night, but that team seemed beyond checked out
