Watching the story arc of Kev and Veronica trying to have a baby was pretty amazing. It just kept getting stranger and stranger.

I loving love this show, but I will be watching True Detective instead because I don't get Showtime at school. I catch up the next day using Xfinity on my computer. It is flawed and suffers from typical Showtime excess for the sake of excess, but I can't help but love all of these characters. Especially Lip, even though he's become a big baby.

I didn't think anybody cared about Jimmy. He was such a boring character, I was glad that he just disappeared offscreen.

I liked his fall from grace last season and most of the issues I had was that he and Fiona never actually talked about any issues either was having with day-to-day stuff. How he decided to handle things were not mature, like him immediately going to Estefania whenever he and Fiona would have a spat but that's why this show is still fun to watch, people do stupid, irrational things and it still feels like something a real person would do.

I wouldn't say he was boring, I wouldn't even say he was an underdeveloped character, but I think since the show never really covered his motivations well so he was underutilized to the point where he just did things and we were supposed to accept that "Oh, okay. I guess he did that thing right there." I liked him, and liked how he generally made Fiona a happier person. he also helped her develop herself; while he didn't exactly push her, he was around enough to give her some time to do things for herself, finally, and get some professional confidence. Which was nice. He was pretty immature sometimes, too, though. But overall he was a pretty fun guy, and it'd be cool to bring him back, aside from all the technical difficulties in the story between how it's probably impossible for his drug lord father-in-law to do anything except kill him and the whole Fiona stuff. But Fiona'll take anybody back, she's sassy and smart and strong, but damaged goods are damaged goods.

Finally just caught up on Shameless, which involved binge watching half of Season 1, then Season 2 and Season 3 in just a few days. I would offer that I really liked Steve-Jimmy in both Seasons 1 and Two, but once he had his fall from grace, he became a pretty one dimensional character. I think the V/Kev storyline was copied from The Bold and the Beautiful, in which Brooke and her daughter Bridget were also knocked up by the same guy at one point.

Yeah, this is difficult. On the one hand it's been so long since the last episode aired that I'm desperate to see what's going on in their world. At the same time though, censored Shameless just ain't right.

I did catch a small preview while watching the marathon, and holy poo poo: (PREVIEW SPOILERS ) Lip is actually going to college!? That made me really happy, then I realized, it probably won't last Also, this show is very re-watchable. I just caught a few episodes here and there during the marathon, and it was like watching it for the first time again.

I love this show so loving much and can't wait for Season 4 to get going. I also live in CHicago, so I guess it hits a little closer to home for me as well. Oh, and..GOT VIRUS FROM MP3 posted:I think my favourite moment in this show was the agoraphobic woman finally running outside to save Liam. ...this scene right here. I didn't even know he was on the show. gently caress! I had to pause and rewind a couple times just to verify it. But I guess he has a pretty distinct 'look' to him. Anyways, yes, watch this show. After that amazingly well written OP and all the thumbs up following it, you have no excuse!

The uncensored preview is now available through Showtime On Demand! S4E1 light spoilers: It's mostly a set-up episode, picking up where they left off. Also, I'm pretty sure that Carl was wearing a "gently caress Jay Cutler" shirt at one point, so that was very amusing. I'll reserve any further judgment until after the episode airs.

Captain Foxy posted:Hell yeah, gently caress youuuu Fraaaannnnkkk This is the best post about Shameless. I love this show. I think it gets better every season. I remember in the beginning thinking that Debbie was a really weak actress (even for a little kid) and then (early season 3) the moment when Frank falls on her school project and says it was a piece of poo poo anyway, then she gets truly angry with him for the first time and attacks him with like a pillow filled with soap or something... it's such a perfect microcosm for Shameless. It's really funny but it legit made me cry because it's sort of the moment Debbie not only accepts that her father is a huge piece of poo poo but the moment she stops forgiving him for it. Ugh. It makes me want to cry just thinking about it. And laugh. So good. I rambled a little bit there. But I just got excited because this show is so good.

I don't know if that's necessarily the way they are going--he isn't the big fish in a small pond anymore, but they seem to be showing that he has to put in a full effort, which he isn't really used to. He can't spend all his free time worrying about other things, then quickly poo poo out a paper and have it be considered gold. I guess I'm not disagreeing with you, I just wanted to say a little further what was interesting about it. And Kev's reaction was perfect.

I don't think it's about half-assing it or being not the smartest, look back at the impromptu MIT letter he wrote. It's about how he focuses more on making glib social commentary about a subject in favor of actually critically discussing the subject and while that's very aware of him, that's not the assignment. He flat out told the MIT interviewer that he didn't want to take lecture classes, he thinks he's above it. It's about his attitude.

This show is truly the hidden gem of Sunday night television, and anyone that doesn't watch it needs to change that right now. That being said, the season opener has me worried that Debbie's going to be making some bad decisions this season in the name of "being more grown up." In general, this might be a rough season for everyone. On the other hand, V and Kev's story continues to be great, and Liam is the most adorable Gallagher .

In general, this might be a rough season for everyone. I had the same thought. The "coming of age" for Debbie, and all of the Gallagher kids for that matter, has been one of the most interesting things about this show, especially given that she is growing up so much at such a young age. Now that she is a few months older, and is starting to date boys, I can foresee a bad decision or two. But that is to be expected from this show.

The biggest thing I'm noticing is that I really wanted Lip to go to college, and I was mad at him when he didn't care. Now that he's in college, everything you love about his character is suppressed. Like they're saying, "alright you wanted him here, this is what it did to him" and now I almost don't want him there any more. They could take it in any direction now and I really admire that sort of development.
