GRILLARY CLINTON posted:anti, charli xcx, jessy lanza? Anti maybe but honestly I think despite it's success it got totally swallowed by the other musical trends of 2016. It feels like the weird transitional step between the 2014/2015 trend of "sort of upbeat pop about sad stuff" and 2016's shitpile of "morose droning sad bullshit". Music that gets caught halfway between trends is cool but it usually doesn't get remembered well, not a lot of people talking about their love for In Through The Out Door or Night Songs. And literally no one listened to that Jessy Lanza album, if your hit single doesn't crack a million views on YT/Vevo I don't think you really count as "pop" music in the modern day and age.
