No ice and then take the wholly sucked empty cup when at home and re-fill it with water until the novelty and topnotes of wax wears off and the bottom kind of pooches down. Still don't put ice in the cup at any point in time.

The McDonalds near me have luke-warm soda so ice is a must there, at least it's only a dollar. But otherwise no-chem ice, I'm not looking forward to drinking bleachy baja blast.

Ice only in tea. Soda you get pure from the dispenser as God Himself intended

Depends on how much soda I want. But I will echo the other posters that any quality root beer is no ice.

Depends on the restaurant. Different restaurants balance their syrup to water ratios differently to account for ice. Mickey D's, for instance, puts a ton of syrup in their soda, so you always want ice in it otherwise it's too strong. Good rule of thumb, though, is if it's a self service fountain never put in ice, they always skimp on the syrup for those.

Fountain sodas are always going to be a little cold because of the pressurization process it goes through during the carbonation. But for ice: Light ice if I'm eating in and they have free refills. No ice if it's drive thru or the place does not have free refills. I want every drop of soda I'm paying for.
