For twelve years, you have been asking: Who is John Galt? This is John Galt speaking. I am the man who loves his life. I am the man who does not sacrifice his love or his values. I am the man who has deprived you of victims and thus has destroyed your world, and if you wish to know why you are peris

It's just Hyacinth pretending to carry on a phone conversation with Sheridan while listening to him getting railed by all manner of cocks.

Whoever played young Hyacinth was hot as hell and if you need some headcanon explanation as to why she's not a spinster in the main series, there you go.

my english ex-pat grandmother loved the show. she said back when she used to hang out with other english ex-pats they'd pull the same kind of poo poo and drive her nuts.

Dumb Sex-Parrot posted:

I wonder how the two of them ever got together; arranged marriage or did she just get crazy over time?

my assumption is that they met, and she basically took an interest and decided they were going to be married

also likely that even if he didn't want to be (which, you know, a woman being so interested in marrying him might have been a genuinely pleasant experience for him), he was probably too passive to assert himself

but also we don't know his upbringing. we never meet or hear about his parents. it's entirely possible that he was miserable and living with his parents and she was an escape from that.

it is likely that hyacinth is, or was at one point, a drinker; at the end of one harrowing episode she demands "a very large whiskey"

so maybe she was a bit more rowdy in her youth

Hyacinth continually inviting The Major over to her fancy occasions because of his money and clout even though she knows he's going to repeatedly make unwanted sexual advances... I can't tell if that was just a thoughtless gag or a statement the writers really wanted to make, but drat dude.

Onslow ruled and should have gotten a spinoff.

I've got a pocket full of cheese🧀, and a garden full of trees🌴.

Something I just thought of.

Even though Rose is the one that is considered a slut, Daisy is the one who is constantly after some sweet sweet loving off of Onslow.

So perhaps Rose's supposedly hyperactive sexual drive was all performative, coz as far as I remember she never actually gets off with anyone. But Daisy is constantly hungry for dick. Not necessarily any old dick though, she wants the big O.

Seriously though, one of the things that made Onslow one of the better characters in this horrible horrible show was the way that he always felt sorry for Richard.
