Ok just because this comes up EVERY year Here's the odds, and here's how they work. Right now, the RAMS are -4.5 point favorites. This means that the Rams are expected to WIN, with a point SPREAD ( The difference in the teams final score) of LESS than 5 points. The OVER/UNDER is 48.5. This means the COMBINED TOTAL SCORE OF BOTH TEAMS is expected to add up to 48.5 points. Now BBC, your saying, scores can't add up to a half point. Wtf? Well, that's why it's called the over/under. (And why people get confused when they misuse this term). If you bet on this, you say "I bet the score will be LESS than 48.5" so if one team has 38 points and the other has 10 when the game ends? Well? That's 48 points. That's less than 48.5. congrats. You 'hit' the under. You won. Now, let's go back to that "Rams win -4.5" initial thing I mentioned. You can bet on two things here. One, simply that the Rams win or lose. The 4.5 comes in to say "I bet that the Rams win, but that they will win by MORE or LESS than 4.5 points". That is the spread. So, if you bet, today, that the Rams 'cover the spread' and 'take the over' and the final score is Rams 38, Bengals 21. Then the Rams win, so you got that right. They won by more than 4.5 points, so you got that right, and the total score was OVER the 48.5. so you got that right too. Congrats you just won all your bets, and now you know how to bet on football.

10 years ago, when I was working in Korea, my football team, (Hawthorn) made it to the AFL Grand Final. I dragged an American mate of mine up to Seoul so we could watch the game at an expat sports bar. He is from Cincinatti, and understandably knows gently caress all about Aussie Rules. But we drank, watched the game, and he had a good time as I watched the Hawks get run over the top of in the last quarter to lose by 10 points. So today the Cincinatti Bengals are in the US version of the Grand Final, and he has moved back to Cincinatti with his Korean wife. I hope he has a similar experience, dragging a foreign friend to a sports bar to drink and watch a game of football that is only played and understood by one country. Oh, and this time I hope his team wins. Carn Bengals! That is my Super Bowl story.
