That's a very fast way to place an interosseous catheter. The ones we place in the ER come pre-packaged on a battery powered drill and we just drill it into their tibia. It's badass. It does allow very quick fluid repletion.

The whole bit and catheter assembly is cool, plus the loving sound it makes is hilarious.
