Prey is good on atmosphere and is solid overall but not so much a horror game. The first Dead Space is okay, but it's definitely a post-RE4 action/horror game, and Dead Space 2 frustrated the hell out of me.

 Play Soma or Observer. Much better options for what you are looking for.

Dead Space 2 is good poo poo though.
