That last article is the same kind of situation as when lowtax got subpoenaed for the LF posters. If somebody does something criminal in a place where it will get noticed the government will come after them. It's not really big brother, it's more like the kids who wear drug-centric clothes and then get all pissed when the cops hassle them. Banks and credit card companies have been collecting that kind of data for decades. Mastercard and your bank probably know more about you than you do, and unlike Google, what they know can affect your credit, which is important. When I see how much information is put into public by people and collected by corporations, it gives me pause. I rationalize my fears away by figuring that, for the average person's collected information, no one cares. The collection, parsing, and organization of all that data would be a monumental task and by the end of it you'd just know what fast food restaurants 300,000,000 American's went to for dinner and how much they paid. I mean, sure, there is useful information there for someone looking for it. If you're in a situation where some cares enough about you to be looking into you like that, you're already screwed because most "sensitive" information isn't that hard to come across. Advertising and marketing seems like sectors that would benefit the most, but from what I can tell they just use some crappy algorithms based on text or recommend purchases based on similar pages I've visited. Sppooooookyyyyyyyy....

Last weekend was fun. We went on a ride on Saturday and when we got back, the wife's BMW system city bag was mangled with a fused lid hinge and a big crack in the lid right by the hinge.the wife posted:I've learned an important lesson about brake fluid. Namely: never transport an opened bottle of DOT4 in a plastic saddlebag...because it will leak and dissolve the saddlebag. I guess it's time for new case lids! We still can't figure out how it got cracked though. The next day [yesterday] she jumps on Craigslist and finds a pair of the larger tour bags, complete, with hinges and extra mounting hardware, for $375. She managed to talk the seller down to $325 and is now the proud owner of god drat gigantic saddlebags for her R1150R. 1 day turnaround on a broken piece to a super cheap upgrade. 1 week from a Yellowstone trip. Pretty fortunate.

I was in a dealer today to get some chain wax and I took a walk around seeing how I haven't really looked at any brand new bikes. Maybe it's just me, but just about every bike there stuck me as being way too drat big. The Z1000 is about the widest bike I've ever seen, the FZ1000 doesn't look anything like the slim gentlemen is does in pics, even the CBR250 was pretty tall. Another thing is all new exhausts are roughly the size of two oversized coffee cans from costco stuck together. Jesus are there some giant exhausts in the world today. About the only thing there that stuck me as lean was the new gxsr600, which was unfortunately born missing a few chromosomes by the looks of that headlight. On the other hand the new DRZ looks good in white and has passenger pegs now. I'm guessing they sell quite a few by the way it was parked behind a dividing wall in the back of the showroom.

It must be a good bit cheaper for Suzuki to not add the USD forks and such but for 6200 bucks it seems like the least they could do... I have no problem using Harbor Freight tools as long as the work I am asking them to do doesn't have the potential to kill me. When I saw how expensive even small motorcycle trailers are I just bought an old truck for 2k. Mazda B-series/Ford Rangers are cheap, 2wd models have a nice low bed height and 4-cylinders will get 25+ mpg.
