^ The Winchester 101 only gets a side saddle which is kind of weak. Not a repeater but I guess I have a soft spot for sophisticated weapons. Likewise the Winchester 1894 only gets a nightvision scope which seems like an odd choice for the sole attachment for a repeater. And with the Winchester 1873 (which I was referring to) does use the modified receiver but the other doesn't which is odd.Mr. Crow posted:... Is there a mod which adds More Melee and Unarmed Weapons? It just seems that there isn't very many of them.

Modified receiver mods are basically retextures we present as upgrades with a lot of make believe and pretend. Side saddles are visually one of the few (if not only) universal mod I can put on repeaters and shotguns that I can think of. I resist putting silencers and such on them since it doesn't really go with the weapons or make sense. I'm not too sure what I could do to them that would also be visual.

So am I the only one who, upon upgrading PN, have run into a bug where if I go to change any of the percentages or whatever (like chance of gore or something), all the options have big orange bars that make it impossible to see what I'm altering the amount too?

You have to update MCM if you're using it along with PN. If you have the most recent version, you have to make sure you install it after PN (so reactivate it in FOMM).

Naky posted:I've said it a lot of times throughout the thread - as far as I know, you can't just mix and match parts on armors like you can with weapons in most cases and especially not major poo poo like shirts and pants. The work has to be done in a 3D app like Blender and then exported properly. You'll have to find an armor import/export tutorial for Blender or something and try to get it to work that way. On this: It seems if you edit the root scene to be the exact same name for the mesh you want to add to and the mesh you're copying from, it'll work. Like Scene-Root:00 for your editing mesh, Scene-Root:01 for your source mesh, it won't get along. Changing the source mesh to Scene-Root:00 will. But that's just for simple weapon mesh style copy/pasting, proper editing will require Blender. I sat down a few nights back and couldn't make heads or tails of that. The tutorial Internet Friend posted may help, assuming I can tear myself away from Deus Ex long enough to to even begin to read it.

Capn Beeb posted:On this: Yeah, but beware of copy and pasting because it while it may work and look fine in nifskope it will transform to whatever body type it was made for in game. We discovered that the hard way a few months ago when I mixed and matched a type 3 top with a normal pair of pants. Looked great in nifskope and then when it got in game the top shrunk on me and looked ridiculous. It's just easier to do everything in Blend and know it's going to work the first time rather than waste your time experimenting and hoping it will when a lot of times it probably won't anyway.

I'm really saddened by the lack of Wild Wasteland mods out there. It's a really great perk that's really underutilized in the main game. I was hoping there would be a huge pack that added a bunch more encounters but I'm finding a very distinct lack of such things.

Internet Friend posted:This tutorial covers what you need to know. It's geared towards converting clothing to different body types, but the concept is the same. You'll just have to import multiple clothing meshes into Blender, delete the parts you don't want and tweak them to fit together. Thanks for the help. I'm probably gonna need more help than that, though. Importing and exporting stuff in Blender doesn't work with gamebryo stuff in my version(the newest version of Blender that is) and it's a bit hard to edit meshes when they only show up as cubes instead of actual meshes like in that tutorial. Much like how I can't seem to open a mesh in Nifskope without it showing up in white, instead of how it looks in-game. And the link in that tutorial for getting the script for importing gamebryo poo poo in Blender requires having an account on the site.

Stuff's only white in Nifskope because you've not actually looked at the texture settings. Render->Settings and add the paths. You may need to export the textures from the BSA as well. Plus you are going to need the import scripts. I mean, it's not exactly going to work if you don't have them.

They haven't updated the scripts to work with the newest Blender yet. Don't blame them seeing how poorly that beta process was handled.

Cream-of-Plenty posted:How are you sure the increased instability is because of perk-related mods? Spontaneously disappearing textures and meshes doesn't sound like a symptom of mods that add perks. What perk mods do you use, specifically, and what else is in your load order? It's really just me assuming that it's perk related because installing a couple extra ones exasperated the issue further. I haven't really had the disappearing texture issue for a while since I went through and cleaned out any mod I wasn't explicitly using and started reorganizing properly with BOSS and merging a bashed patch with Wrye Flash.

I'll be setting up a new PC in the near future and a brand new FONV run with all the DLC I grabbed for cheap off Steam a little while ago, so it's going to have eight zillion mods, and I'd love to use Wrye Flash if it's anything as decent as Mash, but getting it to run is ughhhhh. I'm going to start playing New Vegas soon. I played it at release, but never finished it and used no mods, and I want to play a definitively better modded version. What mods do you recommend for a more complete game experience without changing too much? I already know I'm definitely getting that Project Nevada thing, looks very cool. And I guess I should pick up either MTUI or DarnUI. What other mods are generally recommended for everyone, to round out the New Vegas experience? My computer isn't very good, so anything purely cosmetic like those new skyboxes everyone is so into, I'm not interested in.

I screwed something up and now my first person view is off center and whenever I take out the Readius it's in the lower right corner and completely unusable. Anybody know a way to fix this? I installed The Armory and AG Supplementary Uniques and then had steam check file integrity and it repaired a couple files so maybe something got replaced and messed it up.

Seemenaked posted:So I love project reality in the daytime, but I dread when the sun starts to dip cause holyfuck does it get dark outside. For people want to get rid of the pitch black lights in project reality you have to modify the .esp yourself and it's actually very easy. First download the NV GECK here Extract all GECK files where the falloutNV.exe would be. Start geck then click "file" at the top then "data". Now check off Fallout.esm and F3NV Project RealityMkIv3.esm ONLY! Nothing else should have a checkmark next to it except these 2 files. Now click on F3NV Project RealityMkIv3.esm and click "set as active file." Now click OK. Now under Special effects look for imagespace modifier and click it. Now on the right side of the pane. look for a file called "F3NVISN1" Right click it and select "edit". Another pane should open and you should be able to see brightness and a value next to it on the right side. Change the value next to brightness to whatever you want to. Lower values mean darker nights. I recommend staying above 0.600. Now do the exact same to F3NVISN2, F3NVISN3 and F3NVISTh. Just click their names on the left hand side and change each value. Once done, click ok and then save your changes. Don't forget to click data and then save so the .esp stays modified. Now run bash and ensure that F3NV Project RealityMkIv3.esm is activated in FOMM and your done! If you need more help feel free to ask.
