my Metroid story is that I was drawing crude and amateurish Metroid fanart as a little kid and my mom said "why does he" (mom hadn't beaten the game under a certain time limit, you see) (and, to be fair, neither had I) "have to have a gun" and so I dutifully changed the end of Samus's arm cannon into a big old compass now mom loves guns and re-opening businesses early so I guess the true Space Pirate is... Then the same guy saw him at another thing weeks later and johnson gave exactly the same 'off the cuff' performance. It's 100% an act, 100% of the time
