I think that sad ending you found in the collectors house has to do with the birthday party downstairs. She's stuck at a surprise party in the middle of a zombie outbreak. It would also explain why all the zombies aren't intruders, they were somehow registered as guests but one more dude walking in triggered the alarm.

I love how delightfully idiotic the combination weapons are in this game. Sure, that piece of pipe will split the bullets coming out! Why not?

FicusArt posted:I'd assume envy is that guy who had nick show him how to beat zombies and make weapons That would be my guess too. For the fetch quest, can you grab the wire early? I'm guessing not. However, I bet in two player you could have one guy (a) hang out around the wire, have the other guy (b) go to the fuse box, get the prompt, (a) grab the wire and then (b) do the fix. But that depends on if key items are shared or not. If nothing else, you could have the first guy wait, have the second guy go to the fuse box, then head for the switch while the first guy takes the wire back. I know I'm overthinking this.

jfc poor Diego ![]() I mean it was pretty obvious he was probably going to die, but that's just horrifying. So are the worms the actual culprit of this whole thing? Because they seem awfully big for hornet larva. I'm sure it'll be expanded upon and now I'm kind of looking forward to what they come up with.

Well, I second the general motion of, 'Jesus, Diego, that was messed up.'

I'm sure Marian will be fine since General Evil got to her and will pull her out of the rubble, I also hope this isn't the last we see of Rhonda, alive anyway.

The reason those things don't attack zombies is they're clearly remote-controlled.

Soooooo, it's never really brought up again (at least as far as I can remember). Obviously it's something to do with the zombie infection, but it's not made clear how exactly. It could be a normal later development stage of the infection, but that doesn't really line up with the zombies we've seen. My guess is it's something special to the neck tattoo people. We know Diego wasn't unique because they fed one of those worms to the President.

So now there is nothing else besides the story missions? No rescuing people from hordes o' zombies, etc.? Just the story and collectibles?
|

As is the grand tradition of Dead Rising, the final hours is just you, the zombies and whatever challenges the final missions offer, Dead Rising 1 actually had the military forces kill every single zombie in the mall on day 3 if you were following the storyline, so there was nothing but you and hordes of dead zombies. Overtime mode of course brings them back. ![]()

One could argue that the LMGs in the police armory are specifically a response to Willamette and Fortune City; in the event of zombie outbreak, arm police to contain and destroy. Been enjoying this, finally thought I'd comment and remember to rate it! Thanks for LPing it!

I'm not sure about "stranded survivors," we might be done with those. But we still have a fair amount of side stuff to go. Also one more DLC campaign. At least someone started getting into the front seat of the shock van eventually. And the US police don't usually have armory's like that. I'm sure there's one of the bigger cities that might, but most wouldn't.

I don't know a lot about specific equipment, but the post 9/11 militarization of US police forces is an ongoing issue. And in a world where the US suffers regular zombie outbreaks there's going to be a much stronger push for a better equipped police force.

![]() |

Yeah wasn't there some small city somewhere that used their funds to purchase a TANK they drove around the streets? And at least a DOZEN that bought APC's with big guns for a small rural area. Police in the US are absurd and far to many don't deserve their jobs.

DR2's electric chair was a push weapon, though you're correct that once you combine it with an LMG it becomes a rideable turretchair

Dead Rising 1 didn't have combo weapons, so everyone who played it just raided the antique weapon store constantly for axes and swords. ![]()

RE: talking about the objectives in Far Cry 3; you were probably thinking of the Buck missions where the objective just pointed you to the entrance of whatever secret ruin with the objective "Meet buck at [place]". Kinda ruined things a little bit. I was oddly overjoyed that Kick actually tried to save her, as opposed to just going "Why won't you let me save you!?" and then stabbing her or something like pretty much every other psycho in all the DR games. The fight itself seemed mechanically simple but that little difference is nice.
