I was annoyed that they didn't have a perk for plasma weapons like they did lasers in New Vegas. I ended up switching to the tri-beam laser though for non-YCS scenarios.

Just surface details and aspects about the culture that we chose to remember. Throw in a cataclysmic, civilization-destroying event then you might lose a lot of the details along with your ~ideas~.
