Pierat posted:I'm looking for a specific version of Misty. I heard it on the radio (The Srlsy Sinatra channel on Siriusxm). All I can tell you is that it was sung by a woman, and it is not anyone listed on wikipedia or like the first 15 pages of youtube if you search "Misty". The 'leading me on' bit was sung differently from any other version I've found and I would recognize it because it was so dreamy. A playlist search shows only the Julie London version.

Hi, I'm looking for a song that I've heard on lots of tv programmes and adverts, especially in documentaries and housing shows. It's very much in the Boards of Canada / Tycho theme, it could even be Tycho but I haven't managed to find it. It's much more Dayvan Cowboy than other Boards tunes. It doesn't have any lyrics and the only way I can describe it is that it sounds a bit like water glistening. The beat/drums are kind of insignificant, its just like synth tones. Sorry for the terrible description.

A long time ago I saw a weird music video of a dude with a monster mask and a gold chain putting on lipstick in front of a bathroom mirror. Can't remember any of the lyrics, just the video, and I tried googling it a bunch of different ways but couldn't find it. Anyone know what it is?

I'm looking for a song where the chorus lyrics are: I feel incomplete, I feel, I feel so incomplete. and the entire song is in a reggae groove.

Long shot. Back on Late Night with David Letterman, probably late 80s to early 90s. There was a lead singer that sat in with the band towards the end of the show. Don't remember if he brought his own band members. I remember zero about the song, except he would always follow up the chorus with a "wooOOooOOoo HOOOOOoooo!" He was bone thin. Long shaggy hair. I think he wore all leather. Most notable feature was most of his teeth were filled with gold fillings. Looked like a total junkie. Anyone throw me a bone on this?

I'm trying to find an aphex twin song (I hope it was or i'll never find it). A dot matrix printer was used as an instrument and for some weird reason I want to listen to it again , google didn't throw me any useful clue.

Found it, it was a ventolin remix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwAngCPxnHQ that doesn't sound as ventolin at all. The answer wasn't here but it lead me to watch the video of Nannou for the first time (love it) and search for a printer symphony, thanks guys.

Anyone know what the song is that plays over the opening credits of the movie Los Enchiladas!? There are no end credits, and googling lyrics or using Shazam didn't turn anything up. The song starts around 1:08 in this video (there's some video glitching for a few seconds but you can hear it clearly after 1:20).

I was extremely high driving home the other night and I heard this amazing song, and of course my brain wasn't about to retain a whole lot of information about it. All I remember was that it had a lyric in the second verse that was something like "she had the wind in her hair from the constellations" and the chorus was really reminiscent of "Jump" by Van Halen, but it was definitely either an actual psychedelic-era band or someone trying to sound like they were. Oh, and one really defining feature of the song that I thought kind of set it out was that during the verse the bass played kind of a constant fuzzy note that seemed to be sustained throughout, but being as it was on a relatively low power college station, it wasn't clear to me if it was a fuzzed out bass guitar or some kind of synth. I'm not holding out a lot of hope that anyone knows what it is by the lovely information I have, but maybe. All I get when I try to google it is results for that godawful Train song.

A catchy song that I heard on a Youtube spam video like 4 years ago. It's sort of a slow atmospheric funk thing and the lyrics were It's real, the moment is real It's real, it can't be concealed ....... And love will make it right.

Looking for a math/prog band I heard a few years ago, but can't remember the name of it or any of their songs. It's basically math rock with a saxophone or two that's been active in the last 5 years. Sounds like Henry Cow. I know this is vague, but even if there's a band similar to it that's posted, I'll find them. I'LL FIND YOU

Their single Balloons (from 5 years ago) had a fair amount of saxophone going on and got decent airplay in the UK at least: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHcOFmiswcQ. This isn't a question about a specific song, but a genre. I go to a lot of nightclubs on the weekends, and I love the style of music there. It's like a fusion of rap/hip-hop with EDM influences. What is this genre called? No amount of search terms has given me the answer I want. I want to know so I can find more music like it. I'm just not sure if these are DJ specific remixes or if there's album compilations and/or torrent compilations of handmade remixes released for free. If anyone could help me I'd really appreciate it!

I heard a song in kickboxing class tonight and it really stuck in my head. It started with something kind of but not exactly the Bo Diddley riff and then moves into heavy distortion and screamy vocals then back into clean territory with a melody. I didn't notice until I was halfway home that I kept humming the opening bit. Anybody have a clue what it was?

Was listening to 88.5 FM in Atlanta yesterday and caught this cool mellow somewhat electronic oraganish song with the following male voice lyrics: Sometimes you just have to let it in ?Stereo? secrets too You don't need a great imagination What's right in front of you Secret meanings and matter of facts, I leave them all to you It's a ?cold? from a distance *couldn't make out lyrics here* Mirrored back to you Broken light bulbs on the ground Every step will make a sound There's nothing hidden ?all we see? Sometimes you just have to let in My google fu is not returning any results and haven't yet resorted to scouring other music forums; I have this section recorded on my phone but still at work so may throw it up on youtube or something later. I still hate how 88.5 doesn't put out a drat play list although they do it sporadically. I am obsessed with finding this drat song now!

I need help identifying an artist and album I listened to a few days ago. it was in the related artists section on spotify for a band I was listening to. I remember the band had a female vocalist and lots of synth organ. I'm pretty sure the name was something like the oknamatics(not exactly that because googling that brings nothing) and I'm pretty sure the album name is something like Party Time!!!. I've been searching for these names trying to see if I can find something close enough to find the them but no luck so far.

^^^^ This is a massive long shot, but it's not Doncamatic by Gorillaz is it? Or something by The Chromatics? I have a line from a recent-ish indie/alt song stuck in my head: "what am I doing here?" It's not Creep. Delivered kind of deadpan, murmured. Something like LCD Soundsystem or the National. What is it? Popcorn fucked around with this message at 04:04 on Oct 20, 2013 |
