I've never seen this show, is Arthur supposed to be a manipulative rear end in a top hat?

I've read a lot of his books and not only was he highly rated in his field as a scientist, he was extremely engaging as a writer - I remember the first time I read "The Man who Mistook his Wife for a Hat", I was was so completely engrossed, I climbed down off the top deck of a double-decker bus and out on to the read while still reading.
Literally couldn't put it down :allears:

I can't recommend his biography highly enough. On the Move is the story of a completely singular life lived to the fullest. It's totally inspirational and honestly I'm kinda jealous of some of what he accomplished alongside his groundbreaking research.

For example, while in medical school in LA, he would regularly drive to the Grand Canyon. Over the weekend. On a motorcycle.

He would pop out of class and immediately hop on his bike and head east. When he got tired, he'd take speed. He'd then camp and hike from Friday night until Sunday night. He'd leave late Sunday, again munching speed, and arrive back to campus for his first class Monday morning.

Seriously, every phase of his life has some incredible elements that have inspired me hugely to make more of my free time. An ultimate example of "a life well lived".

If you want to read another very open and honest take about drugs, Drug Use For Grown Ups by Columbia's (former?) head of Neuropharmacology is real good too.

I like to watch CinemaSins and Honest Trailers for all the movies I'm curious about but don't want to watch. It's like Cliff's Notes with commentary notes to use in conversation to "prove you watched it."

I was curious when he was in medical school because how easy was it back in the day if you had time to just go on vacation regularly like that, then got even more confused when I read he went to medical school in England.

He did his residency at UCLA.

For a fair few people I've met it's more about not using terms that are shared with Big Monogamy than anything else. More than once I have heard the phrase, "you need to get rid of any expectations that monogamy forces on you" or similar lol

The term "joyfriend" I've heard a lot, but that's more for ace folks ime. It's cute tho I think.
