Look, if you had one shot
or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted
in one moment
Would you capture it...
or just let it slip?

Xenology is an unnatural mixture of science fiction and formal logic. At its core is a flawed assumption...

that an alien race would be psychologically human.

Thanks! It was an uncommon combination of very cold and quite windy that day. Typically, temperatures colder than -20 C come with bright, clear skies and not much wind; that morning it was about -28 C and the breeze was blowing upriver (the usual wind direction in summer, not so much in winter) pretty steadily. Colder than -25 we see fog on the river - open water is maintained by the powerplant's cooling water discharge at the upstream end of the city - and that wind whipped the fog up over the bridge. Walking over that bridge was pretty epic, too - and very cold on my nose.

Also, what do you guys use to capture clouds? If I expose the landscape properly it's so easy to blow out the sky, and underexpose the landscape if the sky is properly exposed etc. Do polarizing filters, gradient ND filters etc work well, or do people usually bring along tripods to bracket shots?
