I can't remember if it was here or another thread but I remember somebody complaining about calling a locksmith and them drilling and replacing their lock and charging $300 for it instead of actually picking it. It turns out that this is a really common scam based on manipulating Google ads to scoop up people looking for actual, legitimate locksmiths.

god I hate the poo poo that yahoo does when searching for literally any program, my 12 year old brother likes minecraft, happy wheels, roblox other popular youtube games and when searching for "miinecraft download" brings up some bullshit installer as the "first" link (it being something chopped with a gap on the top of the results), and of course him being 12 the first day he got his own laptop he ended up installing a bunch of garbage on it I don't live there and I can't verify every one of his downloads and it's frustrating and dumb that yahoo allows that garbage As for why he uses yahoo it was the default search engine and after setting it to google something sets it back to yahoo again

Also was very pleased to see Microsoft finally gave me seperate options for "shut down" or "shut down and update" Sometimes you need to restart your computer real fast, and you don't have time for a 20 minute update! But Windows often doesn't even give you the loving option. I was so happy I even tweeted at Microsoft how happy I was they finally fixed the stupid system. Then today I get another update, and what do you loving know? I'm right back to my only options being "Shut down and update" or "restart and update" and even on an SSD the update takes over 15 minutes. Guess that was an un-intended feature

That's ridiculous. And again, then you have to manually turn it back on and off and on and off every time. Except everything about 8 & 10 is non intuitive and riddled with security and control issues as highlighted on this very page. A better metaphor would be switching from a desk chair to a hammock. Sure, it has its uses, but sitting at a desk isn't one of them. I have to assume you're young, because of how easily you fail to grasp that up until 8 dropped, Windows had spent the previous 20+ years tweaking a basic template because it worked and was what people liked. Then suddenly out of the blue there's an entire overhaul of literally every single part of the system--in a not too secret move to try to universalize their touch-screen friendly system they designed for their windows phones and surface tablets, NOT PCs--and there was not a single person I ever heard say they liked any of the changes. At all.
