Just joined the DSA after pushing it off for a month. Now I gotta motivate myself to actually participate. The last time I tried to participate in politics was at a Dem county meeting and holy moly that made me lose motivation for awhile.

Even the losses help, because they get people to think, wait a minute, why are the Dems fighting so hard against things we all supposedly support? We arguably wouldn't have people moving as far left as quickly as we are if Bernie had won the primary, because losing exposed the Democratic party as a complete fraud. (although obviously Bernie Would Of Won so we'd at least not have Trump.)

Electoral politics until chapter membership stsrts being 10,000 strong instead of 100 strong will be a joke, but it's good propaganda. Glad Carlos was able to cut ties with bus relatively painlessly. Biss tried to slash public employee pensions a while back and seemed like he was ready to have lived that one down. Not anymore.

General IT work, data work, graphic design. We still go to all the protests and chapter-wide meetings, as well as a sprinkling of reading groups and other committee meetings, but we aren't the ones you want shaking hands and handing out fliers. We're just way too introverted. If a group starts discussing things we speak up, but that 1 on 1 elevator pitch isn't our strong suite. There's a lot of work to be done! Once you get involved you'll see something you can help with and it's important you don't hate it so you don't burn out.

also fun fact, in tx voter registration rolls are public including your address! there is a form to fill out to get yourself removed from the public list so nazis can't publish your address and swat you or molest your kids or whatever nazis try and do
