If Trump dies from coronavirus, it will surely be endlessly analyzed and ground into conspiracy theory fodder. But do you think we'll get a new, distinct conspiracy around it? Like surely there will be people be digging into the nurse shifts on the night he dies and analyzing hospital floorplans and so forth, but do you think there will be people who are solely into Trump death conspiracies? I feel like modern conspiracy theories are dominated by big-tent conspiracies like Qanon rather than consisting of distinct camps like in the 90s where you had JFK, moon landing, Area 51, etc.

I'm getting some weird "Bob Roberts" vibes from this whole Trump C19 thing. For those who've never seen it it's about a Wall Street trader, folk singer, right wing "folk musician" whose sort of like a combination of Trump and Rush Limbaugh. He sings right wing folk songs and is a big rear end in a top hat. It stars Tim Robbins, Alan Rickman, Giancarlo Espisito, Gore Vidal, Jack Black and several other people you'd recognize. It's a mockumentary in the tradition of Chris Guest's movies. It's really good, has funny songs and is eerily prescient. Anyway, down in the polls, Roberts stages a fake assassination attempt to frame the underground journalist digging into his shady past, leaving him alive but paralyzed, resulting a surge of sympathy votes that wins him the election. THe movie ends with ROberts singing one of his new songs in a wheelchair but the camera zooms in on his foot tapping. I don't think that's what's going on here but when I first heard Trump had covid it was the first thing I thought of. EDIT: I honestly expect "China poisoned him", "Dems gave it to him", "what a coincidence. Right before the election!" poo poo to start up in the RWM sphere this week. Yeah, they split up Rhapsody in to two different bands because reasons. There's another band where the name eludes me right now, but there are like 4 different people releasing music under the same band name, because they all claim it's theirs.

my hottest take is that yes, we are under observation by advanced alien civilizations, but in the form of a spectacular live ultraview show/documentary driving spectacular ratings due to the sheer entertainment value derived from seeing us stumble across all this *waves hands around in all directions* turns out that after cold war they are ready for the series finale which is us against capitalism and global warming in a tremendous high stakes dramatic closing, and covid was just the start afterwards, they shall help us out for the tremendous content generated for the ages to come for the enjoyment of all the galaxy
