Disillusion and resentment are produced by alienating the person from the world in the sense of convincing him that there is nothing he can consciously do to better his own condition in any way, and that the world around him only works to hold him back, even if just due to complacency or apathy. And Communist regimes excelled in that.

I don't really understand why people dig up deaths by famine when they want to prove why communism is bad.
