The intermediate split clock reporting Froome as being 3 minutes down. If only that were true.

Bud Manstrong posted:They still don't have sponsors in place. The remaining leadership says they're going for 2017, but without an Amgen or Larry H. Miller-type title sponsor, it's not going to happen. Other than the American riders loving it, the teams had some issues with the race. A lot of the course was ridden on remote and surprisingly flat roads with very few people around. The Denver finish and the Fort Collins and Boulder stages were well attended, but outside of that, not that many people were driving all over the state to watch the stages. I watched stages every year and had a great time. I do hope it comes back, but I'm not holding my breath. Don't forget the inability of NBC to actually bounce a loving camera signal from a motorbike up to a helicopter, and back to a TV truck. Following the race was always an absolute blast though; I've towed a baby trailer up Rabbit Ears, gotten running-cow-bell'd up Flagstaff, and beat the peloton to the finish from Lookout*. Everyone should travel around for a stage race at least once. But yeah, I'm not hopeful for the Pro Challenge returning :-( *They had to do a half-dozen laps around City Park

Team Sky's "marginal gains" somehow turns Domestique riders into GC beaters.

Dumoulin, a TT specialist saves energy for this stage and gets obliterated by Froome who has been riding GC. Complete sham of a race.

That's not that shocking given that they have the wage budget to pay some of the best climbers in the peloton to be domestiques and have enough of them to let them rotate. Wout Poels did basically nothing for the first two weeks of the Tour.

Prudhomme and Gouvenou should put more MTTs (or fake MTTs) in, they do a particularly good job of clearly showing how unbelievable some of the performances can be.

When you can afford to pay Mikel Landa to set the pace for half the day before the rest even have to work it's probably not that hard to build a train that can stay together through the mountains.
