GOTTA GO FIST
I felt the same way about GoT despite really liking it at first. The bad guys just won and won and won. Then the heroes might rally something that looks promising...and then it was a swerve.

TVTropes is in many ways terrible but I got into it years ago and it's basically hardwired into my brain even as I long ago came to understand it's many faults. It has a lot of useful names for certain concepts like that one for easy reference.

I'm quoting the entry that WickedHate referenced, because it is adorable.

The comic book movies under Darkness Induced Audience Apathy include the usual DCEU suspects, Kickass, 300, and Sin City. Those last two are strangely even more baffling. Who finds Sin City, of all things, dark and dreary?

Those examples were all quite successful.

Not just in a big rush before word of mouth way either (other than the DC stuff), people still like those movies.

One of TVT's problems is mass miscategorization and terrible entries.

How was Sin City 2 anyway? There was incredulousness that it came out at all but that was it. I mean I'm probably still going to watch it eventually even if it sucks because I'm like that, but still.

Thrilling the forums since 2001

Like most everything she's in, Eva Green stole the show fully, however like 300 2, there wasn't much show to steal.

If you want to watch her chew scenery like the amazing actress she is, watch Sin City 2 for her part but everything else is just boring and bad.

It really just looks like a freeze frame from the trailer, but maybe from a different angle.

Whatever movie is still going to be great (I hope)

On the subject of X-Men, I think it's funny how they went and got some young actors and actresses to play Scott, Storm, Nightcrawler, and Jean and were saying that they're passing the torch to them and now we don't even know if any of them will be back for the next movie.

Same thing with the First Class kids.

It's a film about World War 1. It kind of has to be depressing. Even by war standards WW1 is The Depressing One

I've gotten to the point where I have basically no hopes for Wonder Woman to be good. Snyder's name in even a small capacity, the last three DC attempts, and even these promo pictures just keep putting me on my guard.

I think you need to learn some sense of proportion. How are you so taken in by hype cycles that you need to be on "guard" against potential bad movies?
