That guy will be so pissed when the gang just rushes through, giving everything just a glance.
Honestly though, he's right. Natural History / Science museums rock.
Alternatively, they spent the next few hours just admirirng that whale and don't even make it into the building.

Also the fact that they apparently don't get told where there unconcious bodies get dumped seems bad.

Agreed science museums rock. The random drop off could be bad yeah, but I suspect public transport is good enough in Japan to fairly mitigate that. Also I'm pretty sure they book their hotels and sometimes restaurants in advance, so that's probably taken into account? It would be very Teai to screw a parolee with a bad drop off, though.

My favourite bit is the "...!" that ends every other sentence.

That's such a weird, contraductory combination. Like you stoically let the sentence trail off and at the very end you're shocked instead.

"That whale is an absolute unit." :geno: :geno: :geno: :aaa:
Maybe it's the aftereffect of the sleeping drugs.

You might be amused to know that it appears in the original Japanese too - I noticed it when I saw a Japanese commenter referencing it below the mystery song from a few chapters ago.

You're right though, it's a very strange thing - I feel like I have an intuitive sense of what it means, like a kind of breathlessness in delivery, but I'm having a hard time imagining what it would sound like in real life. Kinda reminds me of when you watch a music video too many times and the sound and the visuals become unbreakably associated except... the other way around? Sort of?

CrocodileKingSaysNO
Jul 25, 2007

it's pervasive in manga and jrpgs. i think the best real use of it would be in a situation of dawning realization. like a character says something casually and then after thinking about it for a second they think- wait that's more serious than i first thought!

wait a minute, i just lit a rocket...! ROCKETS EXPLODE!!!

Rockets explode??

I mean the one in toy story did, but I guess it was a firework and not really a rocket

Historically, a bunch of rockets exploded.

When I want to relax, I read an essay by Engels. When I want something more serious, I read Corto Maltese.

Whenever I read it, I expect something like a 'wh-?!'; a cut off 'what?!' so whenever I heard what I had assumed to be the case in a lot of subbed anime to be... well, kind of like aizuchi (if I am using the term correctly), I was really thrown for a loop.

I usually read a sentence preceding "...!" as kind of a shout-whisper, like someone trying to express shock while also trying to remain quiet.

though I've always parsed One Day Outing's narration as kind of meandering and constantly pausing for beats, since it never doesn't end on ellipses

I assume it's narrated in the bombastic way that all Fukumoto animes are narrated

Really, if you want to get expert advice on space travel in simple terms just consult Nick and Lever.

Episodde 74: Face Roller

Thank god for episode titles, I honestly would not know what the heck Lever found is without them.

There must be a real sport like this out there, surely?

Episode 75: Searching

Eagle eyed reader, can you help Lever find his glasses?

The Saga

Alright, let's move on to another one of Kaoru Mori's fetishes obsessions interests—bunny girls!

Some of you might remember the oneshot Billiards Room, which was part of a bunny girl anthology that Aokishi Magazine published. Well, they put out a second one, which she of course also participated in! And apparently a third too, but that hasn't been translated yet.

Anyway—here's Barstool.

I just always assumed it works like latin animal names. Like Lupus Lupus, or Canis Canis.

They will come across a Tiger Tiger, rather than for example a Dragon Tiger.

Ob the other hand, there's a comma, so that interpretation is probably wrong.
