It's pretty bad overall, mostly due to NBC actively trying to kill the show at the time. The Enterprise Incident and The Tholian Web are legit great episodes though. Also Spock's Brain is so campy and stupid it's become a must watch at this point.

Lights of Zetar scared the poo poo of my as a child. As an adult it’s not bad but not great. Scotty really is the clingy type.

Fun Fact: Sheri Lewis of Lambchop and Sheri fame wrote Lights of Zetar.

Loving this TNG episode where Data Gets Mad at some Borg and tries to see if he has other emotions so he watches a lot of porn.

But he doesn't so he goes to the holodeck and recreationally strangles Borg, even asking Geordi to override holodeck safety protocols so the Borg he strangles puts up more of a fight.

EDIT: Oh, right, it's when Lore got a bunch of Borg to help him Lore things up.

I kind of always wonder what kind of erotica Data viewed in that episode. Was it just a wide variety or was it like real specific stuff to Data. Like is there android porn in the Star Trek universe.

That was unusual about TNG and DS9. Maybe Fraiser too.
They brought in reoccurring characters for fresh story lines at the expense of the regulars. I wonder what the regular actors thought of that?

Speaking of more season 3 episodes, Let That Be Your Last Battlefield may be the most disappointing episode. Yes, the anti-racism theme is appreciated, but most of the episode is boring filler, and the camera zooming in and out repeatedly might be one of the most nausea-inducing things I've ever seen.

I imagine the opening credits regulars likely got paid the same how much or how little they acted in those episodes, and with Star Trek in particular a lot of those episodes had the actor directing so they weren't on screen much for that reason.

If you watch the pilot, the Bajoran Wormhole is located (or more likely, produces) the Denorius Belt. This belt is a region of high ionic charge that fucks with ship systems, so people stay the hell out of it. It took the Federation setting up shop in the ruins of Terok Nor to find it. Without inquisitive humans around, you won't discover the wormhole, and Terrans of the mirror universe are far from inquisitive.

Jesus Christ why do I know this....
