Give me my bonus as straight paper and I will buy my own drat trapeze lessons or whatever after I've clawed my way out of my $25k in assorted debts. What the hell is wrong with my generation?

I've got in UYD quite late, a few weeks back in fact and i'm going through the episodes and by god is Jah useless without Seth. Hearing him rage on one of the episodes when people were telling him he was a great sidekick was awesome.

I've always felt (as a Millenial) that we are a product of our parents rearing styles but the self-esteem connection had never really occured to me.

I don't want to get in to a big debate about Millennials in the UYD thread but I think the whole self-esteem thing relates way more to Boomers than Millennials. Any five year old can see that everyone getting a trophy regardless of skill level is bullshit. I think Boomers' kids were always meant to be their status symbols, which is why everyone getting a trophy or feeling unique and special was for the parents. It's also just lazy parenting. Teaching kids about the crushing injustice and disappointment of day to day life is difficult and unpleasant, so Boomer parents and educators created a movement where they could sidestep teaching those realities. If there's any good that came from the self-esteem movement, it's its cousin movement of political correctness where you actually had to think twice before calling someone a racial epithet in mixed company.

So my new thing I do is i go back in the archive (quick shoot out to the boys over at archive.uyd.com) and I D.L. old episodes.... but get this.... i D.L. epsisodes that correspond to TOTAYS date, unless there is no old episode that cooresponds in which case I look over the archive (once again, thanks archive.uyd.com) and I find one that i CLOSE.... for instance, yesterday I D.L.ed episode 143. which was originally filmed on NOVEMBER 27th 2008....... even though yesterday was the 28th (of November) I hope this makes sense, and the example I used was helpful for explaining. In conclusion, it has been going pretty well for me so far, but I've only done it once so far and I haven't listened to the episode yet, so your MPG may vary....... I do that except I line the eps up in my app for this date every year between '06 and now. It's a great way to hear how the show has developed over the years, and you get to hear the current season's stories but through like a time warp. Well I'm just assuming. Haven't actually played the eps either.

I was listening to an old episode and Jah was talking about when he used to sell pot and got in way over his head taking money and orders he couldn't fill and smoking the product instead so he got hosed up and went to a blues traveller concert and it reminded me a lot of the way he managed merch orders and business to this day

I don't know why he'd even bother going to see it, he slept on The Dark Knight for a really long time and that movie at least takes place on Earth in the modern day. He still may not have ever seen Breaking Bad and that has nary a booblebot to be found.
