Framing and composition is probably my biggest weakness at this point so I'd appreciate any pointers. This spot is close to my house so I can definitely go back. Here's an uncropped version of this photo.

I'd probably crop the lights off the left side, as you did in the original... And leave the entirety of the open door in the shot on the right, as you did in this uncropped version.
