As I said before: productive technicians don't get promoted because they're more profitable on the tools, this is a well established fact in the motor industry and why people flock away from actually fixing cars to places like VTNZ etc because there's more opportunity for upward progress. Service managers, service advisors etc get hired from middle management positions in other industries, never from the lower rung of a dealership.
