Wouldn't you have to know if he's asking for it in a neoclassical or marxist examination of the economic system? Besides, accounting and legal don't necessarily aid directly in the production of something, but may be necessary during the production process (capital/material procurement and contracting w.r.t. purchasing goods and the sale of products) as your production systems become larger. And value added as applied to a private organization is different from value added as applied to government programs. This is all bullshit off the top of my head, I mostly slept through my econ classes.

In brief, yes. This was my response: A very curious question to ask, especially one that has no true single answer since the goods and services that are provided can both be heavily connected to those two departments or have no relationship to them. But in general the value provided by both has less to do with the products of the company and more to do with the value of the company or government to its shareholders. It allows for them to be confident in the numbers that are provided for the judgement of investment value and performance, or to ensure that their votes have been followed and their tax dollars are being spent appropriately. More recent posts now have a "Goose that lays golden eggs" comment and a eating the food seed remark. Edit: We now have the "If the government seized the wealth of the rich they couldn't run the country for a year" claim. Quick math shows that if you take the top 10% of the country's wealth (in 2007, to be fair), that would ONLY be $45 or so Trillion. Taerkar fucked around with this message at 02:47 on Jan 27, 2012 |

If it wasn't reported in the news how do you have this picture? I actually did some digging around by cropping out the black border and using reverse image search on google and came across the snopes article verifying some chain letter about it here. In the sources section it shows a couple of local tv stations out of Louisiana reporting it. I've tried arguing using facts with this particular facebook person (someone I went to high school with) but it never works. If I were to respond it would contain the fact that it was reported... in 2004, but not on major news because the country had a couple other things on its mind.

The best governed is the least governed? If conservatives really believed that, you'd think they wouldn't want to govern how people have sex, who they have sex with, how they handle birth control, what they put in their bodies, etc. So many vote GOP because they're for "smaller" government. Who do they worship? Oh yeah, Reagan. You know, the President that saw one of the largest expansions of government ever.

How the hell can they even justify this kind of crap. Republicans don't give two shits about the poor. I wonder if it would have the same feel if the guy on the bench was a blagh person. This one keeps coming up lately, I guess people are forwarding it. What pisses me off so much is the last line. If a Republican reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh. A Democrat will delete it because he's "offended". Those drat liberals, so easily "offended" when we purposly make poo poo up and pretend they are loving idiots. Why they so mad? Pussies. Also? If a Republican is homosexual, he quietly leads his life. If a Democrat is homosexual, he demands legislated respect. Are you loving serious? Literally does not know reality exists.

I can't quite articulate it but the sentiment "is bound to win a congressional seat with an ad like this" is incredibly infuriating. Implying that retarded showmanship and media fuckery is a quality not only acceptable in but DESERVING of a political position.

American Politics is becoming nothing more than a popularity contest with who has the more "entertaining" ads for their sides "belief's". Democrats are stupid animals and since this Republican made a commercial showing as much, we have to vote for him! Look at how smart and witty he is compared to others!
