It'd be funny if it wasn't about flirting with yet another war. I don't think a lot of people expecting Obama to start a new conflict, and most certainly not the GOP. They have absolutely no idea how to swing this, because calling Obama a coward backfires if ends up going to war, but giving Obama poo poo over going to war would be hypocritical. I guess their saving grace is that we're far enough from the last two wars that they can start revising history.

It seems Rush's theory is that al-Qaeda used chemical weapons against it's own people in order to get America involved in Syria. His reasoning being: DHS and local officials prepare for al-Qaeda chemical weapons attacks here so why wouldn't al-Qaeda use them over there?

Actually getting knocked up right before deployment is a big problem in the Navy. It's a form of malingering. It's just this one nicely removes you from your entire deployment. Managing to "break your leg" in a mishap doesn't gain that amount of time or give you the same sort of excuse/good feelings/interest group support a kid does. Your command is full of idiots if they don't count on some percentage of sailors trying to pull something to get out of deployment, and getting knocked up is a fairly common trick. Though, there are no battleships, and cruise missiles are usually lobbed from Destroyers and Cruisers. Last I heard only CG's have females, DDs still don't. So there shouldn't be much of a problem.
