The door begins to splinter as Yoritomo pulls out his trademark kamas, grinning fearsomely. "Flee? I think not. None of them shall be left alive to say who slew them, and it is as Togashi-san says--Thunder does not flee!" Then the Scorpion are upon you. There's a swarm of them, and at least one shugenja hanging back. Let's have some initiative. Also, just a side comment, remember that Day of Thunder 2: Electric Boogaloo hasn't happened yet/may not even be A Thing in Scorpyverse, so I just had Yoritomo assume Win was talking about Osano-wo. There's enough Scorpions here that you can all have one if you like, though getting to the shugenja may be tricky. If you want to play around with them, there are crates and such in the room, and there's certainly a lot of Mantis here as well to join the battle for any noncombatants in the room.

Matsu Itaru Itaru had been lucky he hadn't been injured in the combat. Without his armour he felt strangely vulnerable in combat, and after this he vowed never to be without it again. Well...he might make an exception for at sea. He didn't particularly want to sink after all and the armour would not be particularly buoyant he guessed. "We certainly will not return soon to these lands I would reckon Lord Yoritomo, so if there is any message that you cannot trust to an untested messenger we can ensure the safety of your clansman to deliver it himself." The Matsu added to Win's comments of messages.

As the days of the reign of the Scorpion Emperor came to a close, certain individuals became known for their roles in spreading the word of the returned Hantei Emperor, and as they became more widely known the Scorpion became more desperate to stop them. Oddly, Shoju himself seemed to be less concerned than his Inquisition, and indeed, unsurprised to learn of the Hantei Emperor's existence... Miya Shouko, as usual Hey guys, have some XP! Take...three. A hasty trip to the docks shows how to blockade the Mantis...the Scorpion troops are, evidently, firing the kobune. This is not going over well, and there is in fact a pretty nasty fight going on. Fortunately, you've got support from an elite cadre of Mantis, and shortly you're underway. One slightly tense trip later, you're back ashore, in the lands of the Phoenix. The port you land at is...not especially large, though it's big enough that you need not fear being singled out as travelers should someone come looking. The lands of the Dragon are...well, across the Phoenix territory. And it's late.

Matsu Itaru Void 2-3 Heavy Weapons 5-7 I forgot to mark XP and spend it for a while. Itaru thought about it and in the end agreed. "People will have no reason to report us to any Scorpion inquisitors or their servants if we do not act suspiciously. We should simply conduct our business, but try to avoid drawing attention to ourselves." There was a certain degree of self-awareness in the last comment, Itaru being aware he stood out both in appearance due to his large size, and to the way he acted.

Matsu Itaru The Lion mentally rolled his at the Mantis, but otherwise kept the polite mask on his face. "Lion are always ready to march Win-San, but I am concerned that an aversion to sleeping in an inn might draw attention." Itaru glanced at Asano for a moment, an implicit question of what he would suggest asked but not aloud. It was not that he thought his fellow Lion was better at sneaking and not being noticed, especially given the reputation of the Ikoma for being the opposite to that, but he knew the ways of courts and how intrigue worked a bit better than Itaru and so Asano might be better prepared to outsmart the Scorpions. Itaru would as a Matsu, be inclined to simply overpower them instead.

Matsu Itaru Well the majority wanted to stay in town. "We shall be spending the night here then. If you wish to make a head start however Togashi-San, we would not think ill of you dedication to your duties. However it might be prudent to remain as a group for the time being."
