I've seen a number of these for sub 3k even in my area. All of them need work, and some of the parts are going to be harder to come by. Although there should be a decent chunk of stuff shared between similar era 5 and 7 series (driveline particularly) some of it is gonna be 6 series only and a pain to track down.
