I wish some entity such as Netflix could produce a Yakuza sitcom. One minute solving a crossword puzzle, then moving onto slot cars and finally running a cabaret and a real estate empire. Thanks Sega.

I started Yakuza the other night and I wasn't totally sold until I trained a fledgling dominatrix how to be a S&M queen in front of some children then observed her first performance with a client. Then a guy the size of 3 humans punched all the money out of me. 10/10 so far good recommend goons, got Nier also but enjoying the insanity in Yakuza too much to switch just yet.

My biggest issue with it is the incessant loading screens ( I know this is a yakuza staple but loving hell) and the slow walk speeds in interiors. It does this SUPER annoying thing, mainly as Majima, where you get a long cutscene , have thirty seconds of gameplay, another cutscene, it tells you to go to a place, then you get ANOTHER cutscene finally the game tells you to go back to the place you just came from The writing and acting are so so good though that I don't really mind.

Australia based goon here guys. As someone that doesn't follow Baseball at all, and has no interest in watching the sport, I seem to be somewhat interested in playing MLB: The Show 17. The last baseball game I played would have been on the Sega Master system back in the 90's. I am looking for a casual sports game to play, so would The Show be something suited to that? I know nothing about Baseball terms outside of the general home run etc. Whats the learning curve going to be like? I am not too worried about playing online against others so my skill level there isn't going to worry me too much.

i think the one this year has a clone of classic ken griffey jr baseball in it so if you can't wrap your head around all the weird minigames that go into a modern sports title you can always just play that retro mode.

Man, Psi Ops needs to be rebooted or redone for the ps4. That game would be incredible in HD. I loved that game. Surfing broken doors to avoid traps, then flinging said door into enemy soldiers, jumping over em and hitting em with the mind drain and making their heads pop, and then remote controlling the last bastard so he just wanders off into some painful trap somewhere. It was less of an adventure game and more of a "How many different ways can you gently caress up these bad guys?" simulator.

The PS4 famously had No Games at launch and outside of Resogun its launch lineup was pretty weak. It's in a great place now but it took time to get there. The Switch will do just fine, despite what Nintendo says this is not a home console replacement, they are doing what they do best which is handhelds. It's a successor to the 3DS, it won't be replacing anyone's PS4. unlawfulsoup posted:The Pro feels kind of half-assed, but it makes more sense as a mid-gen upgrade. It is by no means a real 4K AAA game machine, but it does offer a lot of other decent perks, more importantly it scales well with the OG PS4. Basically it doesn't make that feel completely left behind. The Scorpio assuming rumor mill is right will almost be like a full generation leap. It is kind of weird position since the original Xbone is going to look horribly dated and makes me wonder if devs are going to really go out optimizing for Scorpio hardware in the short term. If the rumours are true Scorpio will absolutely be a full next-gen leap in specs. Even if they claim all games will also be available on XOne (I bet they won't very quickly). But MS are also saying it will cost a lot more, it's going to have to if they want to deliver native 4k-gaming, possibly pushing it close to gaming PC territory, which then raises the question of who is this console actually for? (Why buy this if you could get a gaming PC for the same or slightly more cost?) Seam machines kinda attempted this and nobody is talking about Steam machines any more. I'm just not sure if throwing money at specs is really going to be the solution to bring Xbox out of the dust. LordMune posted:Hello PlayStation thread, it's been a a few weeks so this may have been addressed already but. What are people's experiences with HDR in Horizon? The PS4 and Xbone basically had the same launch library, though, IIRC. AC4, BF, Madden, Injustice, Plants vs Zombies, probably other multiplats I'm forgetting. The only Xbone launch exclusive I remember is Ryse, but I know there was something else. PS4 had Killzone, Knack, Resogun, and other stuff you got for free if you had it on PS3.

If Microsoft wants to do actual UHD gaming with respectable visuals and framerates then the Scorpio will cost like $800 fuckin dollars, even as a massive loss leader, so that isn't happening

Tomb Raider, Infamous: SS, Injustice, Rayman Legends, Killzone and a few sports games got me through the so-called drought without ever feeling like I had nothing to play. Switch owner options are far more limited in 2017, with many third party games being years old already.

Yeah making a high power high cost machine doesn't seem that beneficial to helping xbox recover. Some people will buy it but not enough for the xbox brand to catch up to Sony. A console probably mostly succeeds on three things: the price (Microsoft lost to Sony from the beginning when the ps4 was 100 less), exclusives (ps4 has the better/more exclusives and most Xbox ones are on pc anyway) and probably the accessibility of the system/ui (both consoles are likely tied here) The Scorpio does not do anything that helps any of the above three points. All it is is another option for Xbox gamers to choose but it won't make up for the 20+ million console lead the ps4 has. Ineffiable fucked around with this message at 12:39 on Mar 27, 2017 |

The no games thing really depends on your tastes. For the longest time the PS4 was just a Bloodborne machine for me.
